O b i t u a r i e s
James R. Wright, 82, of 15th. Street (see note 1 below), Nitro, died May 27,
1988, in Putnam General Hospital after a long illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Nitro and was a retired repairman from Monsanto
Co. with 35 years of service. He was a member of Maranatha Fellowship, St.
Albans.
Surviving: sons, Gig Wright (see note 2 below) of Hurricane, Pastor James
Wright of Nitro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Gatens Funeral Home with Pastor James Wright
officiating. Burial will be in Ortin Heights Cemetery, Nitro. Friends may
call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca.
Compiler's Notes:
1). Roy was living with his son, Jim at the top of 15th Street prior to his
death. His lifelong home prior to this, was on 16th. Street in Nitro
2). Roy's son, Lowell Wade Wright, better known as "Gig".

When Roy was young and lived in Charleston, he worked for a landscaping
company that planted the trees along the river on Kanawha Boulevard.
