Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wright 50 Years (photo)

Lowell "Gig" and Lenace Wright were married August 12, 1950, at Christ the King in Dunbar by Father Cornelis Deihl.

Gig is retired from Pipefitters and Plumbers Local 625. The couple make their home in Hurricane. They have three daughters, Gigi Billups of Hurricane, and Cathy and Becky Wright of Nitro, and a son, Michael, deceased. They also have three granddaughters and one grand son, Christy Ruby of St. Albans, Aimee Billups of Scott Depot, Stacy Richardson of Nitro, and Mike Billups of Hurricane, and one great-grandson, Gavin Richardson of Nitro.

Gig has one brother, Dr. James Wright II of Saint Albans. Lenace has four sisters, Nell Sibley of Orlando, Fla., Carroll Bohn of Anderson, S.C., Bonnie Walker of Ashland, Ky., and Betty Armstrong of Saint Albans.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with family at a special dinner.

OBITUARIES

Lowell Wade "Gig" Wright

HURRICANE - Lowell Wade "Gig" Wright, 70, of Hurricane died May 11, 2002, at home after a long illness with lung cancer.

Gig was a retired pipefitter from Local 625 with 35 years of service and a Marine veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wade Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lenace Donegan Wright; his daughter and son-in-law, Gigi and Reggie Billups of Hurricane; his daughters, Cathy Wright and Becky Wright, both of Nitro; his grandchildren, Christy, Aimee, Travis, Stacy and Michael; his great-grandsons, Gavin and Jordan; his brother, the Rev. James Wright of St. Albans; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of ChristiOhio. FrCemetery, Juan Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nitro with Father Dean Borgmyer officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House. There will be no visitation.

The family wishes to thank Kanawha Hospice Care and suggests donations be made to them at: Kanawha Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.

Gatens Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Poca, WV, is in charge of arrangements.
