Samuel F. Steele, 72, of 119 40th St., Nitro, a retired custodian at American Viscose Corp. in Nitro, died Sunday at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

Survivors: wife, Stella E.; daughter, Mrs, Ruby Higginbotham of Poca; sons, Kenneth H. of Nitro, John of Bedford, Ind., Roy of Los Angeles, Calif., Douglas of Chicago, Ill., Elliott R. of New Castle, Pa.; sister, Mrs. Ethel Nubert of Cleveland, Ohio.

Service was conducted Wednesday at the Nitro Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. O.R. Gunno and the Rev. Larry Foster officiating. Burial in Cunningham Memorial Park under direction of Gatens Funeral Home of Poca.
