The mothers of the members of the graduation class of Nitro High School entertained with a dinner at the First Baptist church on Monday night honoring the graduates and their relatives. The girls of the junior class served. Present were Misses Alva Lanham, Emma Belle Williams, Betty Love, Juanita Ashworth, Margaret Hutchison, Katherine Wilson, Ilean McKinney, Artha Crouch, Nettie Hively, Dolly Patton, Beulah Painter, Juanita Smith, Freda Painter, Messers. Nettie was graduated from Kanawha Valley Hospital School of Nursing as a "Registered Nurse" on August 31, 1961 at 7:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Little Theater, Charleston, W.Va. She was one in a graduating class of ten. She then passed her "State Boards" as was duly certified as a Registered Nurse on October 31, 1961, certificate No. 15,600.

Nettie later received her BS degree in education from West Virginia State College on December 19, 1975.

She bought a new 1963 AMC Rambler on August 26, 1963.

She had "breast tumor surgery" on February 3, 1964.

Nettie Belle Landers Hively, 75, of St. Albans died Nov.30, 1995, at Arthur B. Hodges Nursing Center, Charleston, after a long illness.

She was a native of Nitro. She was a graduate of Kanawha Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, West Virginia State College, West Virginia College of Graduate Studies and West Virginia University Tele-Lecture Nursing Studies. She was a retired registered nurse from Thomas Memorial Hospital, Staats Hospital and Charleston General Hospital. She was a former teacher at Nitro High School.

Surviving: daughters, C. Yvonne Hively Karl of Livonia, Mich., Virginia Ruth Hively Wright of St. Albans; son, Richard L. of Nitro; sisters, Helen M. Landers Stricklen of Nitro, Doris M. Landers Jones of Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, with the Rev. Harold M. Goodpaster and the Rev. H.G. Terry officiating. Burial will be in Lilly Cemetery, Poca. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 777, Nitro, W.Va. 25143.
