J.S. Hively, 73, Dies After Illness
Poca (Special) - John Spencer Hively, 73, of Poca, died yesterday in a South
Charleston hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Hively was a former employee of the American Viscose Co. in Nitro and a
member of the Nitro Church of God.
Surviving are the widow, Fannie; four sons, the Rev. E.R. Hively and Glen
Hively, both of Nitro, Woody Hively of Poca, and Waitman Hively of Slate; four
daughters, Mrs Anna Belt of Hebron, O., Mrs. Mary Jett of Akron, O., Mrs.
Stella Steele and Mrs. Sylvia Leshon, both of Nitro; three sisters, Mrs. Anna
Murphy of Akron, O., Mrs. Alice Camp of Nitro, and Mrs. Flora Payne of
Clendenin; 33 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The body is at Gatens mortuary at Poca.

NOTICE
To the Creditors and Beneficiaries of the Estate of JOHN SPENCER HIVELY,
Deceased:
All persons having claims against the estate of John Spencer Hively, deceased,
whether due or not, are notified to exhibit the same with the voucher thereof
properly sworn to, with the understanding at his office in the Town of
Winfield, Putnam County, West Virginia, on or before the 15th day of August,
1954, otherwise they may, by law, be excluded from all benefits of said
estate. All beneficiaries are notified to be present on said day to protect
their interest.

Last Will and Testament
I, John Spencer Hively, of Vinton, Gallia County, being of full age and of
sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be
my last will and testament.
Item 1: I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of
my estate as soon as practicable after the time of my decease.
Item 2: All my property, real and personal, of every kind and description,
wheresoever situate, of which I may own or have the right to dispose of at the
time of my decease, I give, bequeath and devise to my wife, Fannie Florence
Hively, absolutely and in fee simple.
Item 3: I make, nominate and appoint my said wife, Fannie Florence Hively to
be the Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby authorizing and
empowering my said executrix to compound, compromise, settle and adjust all
claims and demands in favor of or against my estate, and to sell at private or
public sale, at such price and upon such terms of credit or otherwise, as she
may deem best, the whole or any part of my real or personal property, and to
execute, acknowledge and deliver deeds and other proper instruments of
conveyance therefor to the purchaser or purchasers.
I request no bond be required of my executrix, and no appraisement of my
household goods and furniture be made.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand, at Gallipolis, Ohio, this
19th day of March, 1947.
