The Rev. Elzie Ray Hively, 80, of Nitro, died June 8, 1995, in Arthur B. Hodges Center, Charleston after a long illness.

He was a native of Clio, and a 65-year resident of Nitro. He was a retired minister, retired from from Avtex, Nitro, with 41 1/2-years service, and attended Nitro 15th Street Church of God.

Surviving: wife, Nettie Landers Hively; daughters, Carol Yvonne Karl of Lavonia, Mich., Virginia Ruth Wright of St. Albans; son, Richard L. of Nitro; brother, Woodie Hively of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, with the Rev. Harold Goodpaster and the Rev. H.G. Terry officiating. Burial will be in Lilly Cemetery, Poca. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to 15th Street Church of God, Nitro, W.Va. 25143, Maranatha Fellowship Building Fund, 2910 Kanawha Terrace, St. Albans, W.Va. 25177 or Arthur B. Hodges Center, 500 Morris Street, Charleston, W.Va. 25301.
