Frazier Farm

The reunion has been held at least since the 1920s as shown below.  When did it start?

The first reunion was on the David Allen & Lula Hoff Frazier’s 146.5 acre farm on Big Buffalo Creek (photo above).

NOTE: A group photo, taken at the Family Reunion on David & Lula’s farm in1928, was on display at the 2003 Frazier Reunion. It included 48 people.  You can see the photo by clicking on the link below.

David Allen Frazier died January 22, 1935 & Lula died April 28, 1945 – Was the reunion still held there?

Constance Frazier only remembers a few of the reunions on her Grandpa, David Arthur Frazier’s farm on Poca River when she was very little (she was born in 1961).  She says “I remember churning ice cream and Grandpa laughing at us little ones because we couldn't turn the crank when it got close to the end!”

Per Constance Frazier: “I'm not sure when the Reunions were at Grandpa's exactly. I know that the 60's until 1966 were likely. How soon in the late 50's he started having them there at Poca, I don't know.”

Bernard Frazier’s farm on Big Buffalo Creek – Bernard died November 6, 1968

Lawrence & James Cook both helped put up a big tent for the reunion.  Bill Payne remembers it having two big poles, like a circus tent. They also had a big bonfire to roast wieners for hot dogs at night.

A big dinner bell was rung when it was time for everyone to eat.  The kids always came “a runnin’ when they heard the bell.

Paul Frazier came from Oklahoma & made animals out of balloons for the kids.

Florence Frazier made dolls during the winter & had them available for everyone to see at the Reunion. Florence died Nov 19, 1966

Frank Frazier’s farm in 1974 – Frank died October 9, 1974

Claude “Cowboy” Frazier’s farm on Buffalo Creek (same farm) – Cowboy died August 29, 1996

Johnny & Sandy Roush & some other guys always jumped in the pond for a swim.

The men pitched horseshoes over next to the creek.

Several of the younger family rode the horses.

One year the weather cancelled the reunion & the big tent was blown down. After that, Claude "Cowboy” Frazier build a high bridge for the cars to get in.

The “Frazier Farm” is still in the family as it is currently owned by Claude Frazier’s daughters, Jo & Cathy (David’s great-grand daughters).
